Reporting someone

If somebody is making you uncomfortable, you do not need to email us first. In the app, open their profile or your conversation and use Report or Block.

Blocking takes effect immediately and is never rate-limited — it is how you get away from someone, so it always works. Reports go to the café owner, who can suspend an account.

Common questions

Nobody can see me in the café

You are invisible until you scan the QR sticker on your table. If you have scanned and still do not appear, check that you have not left the table from the app, and that your phone has a working connection.

The QR will not scan

Grant the app camera permission (Settings → Apps → MingTag → Permissions → Camera). Good light helps; try moving closer or tilting the phone.

Do my chats end when I leave?

No. Leaving the café frees your table and nothing else — accepted conversations carry on. What a guest account cannot do is reach them from a different phone, which is what signing in with Google or Apple fixes.

Who can see my location?

Nobody, unless you turn on live location sharing in your profile and then switch it on for that specific person — both are off by default, and a new connection stays off until you turn them on yourself. Sharing keeps working while MingTag is closed. Turning off a person, or turning off sharing altogether, stops them seeing you right away. It is not available on guest accounts.

I am not getting notifications

Check your phone's notification settings for MingTag, and on Android make sure battery saving is not restricting the app.

I want my account and data removed

In the app: Settings → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you cannot reach the app, email privacy@mingtag.com instead — see deleting your account for exactly what goes and what is kept.
