Terms of Service
The agreement that governs your use of MingTag.

1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, scanning a table QR, or otherwise using MingTag, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app and, where required by law, by email. Continued use after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance.
2. What MingTag does
MingTag is a social discovery service for a single participating café. It allows guests who are physically present at the café to:
- scan a QR code at their table to mark themselves as a guest of that table;
- see other guests currently at the same table;
- send and receive short chat requests and messages with those guests;
- continue a conversation after leaving the café.
MingTag is not a dating service, a job-finding service, or a marketplace. Any commercial solicitation, advertising, or promotion of goods or services is prohibited.
3. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use MingTag. By using the service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
You may sign in with a Google account, with an Apple account, or as a guest. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use MingTag to harass, threaten, defame, or intimidate any other user. You also agree not to:
- impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state your affiliation with a person or entity;
- share content that is illegal, obscene, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or that encourages violence;
- send unsolicited commercial messages (spam) or promotional content;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the service;
- use any robot, scraper, or other automated means to access the service for any purpose without our written permission;
- upload viruses, malware, or any other code designed to disrupt or damage the service.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of any content you submit, post, or transmit through MingTag ("User Content"), including chat messages, profile photos, and nicknames.
You grant MingTag a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, host, store, reproduce, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, developing, and improving the service. This licence terminates when you delete your account, except where retention is required by law.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence and that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.
6. Our intellectual property
The MingTag name, logo, and all related graphics, icons, and software are the property of MingTag or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any of the above without our prior written consent.
7. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, that continued provision of the service to you would create a security or legal risk, or that your account has been inactive for more than 24 months.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings, using Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, your conversations and every message in them, your connection requests and the files you sent are removed from our servers, and we cannot restore any of it.
Two things outlive the account. Reports made about you are kept, so that deleting an account is not a way to erase a safety record and start again; and we keep records we are required by law to retain, for only as long as that requirement lasts.
If you cannot reach the app, email privacy@mingtag.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you within 30 days.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
MingTag is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. MingTag does not conduct background checks and does not verify the identity of any user.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MingTag, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) INR 5,000.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MingTag from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction stated at the bottom of this document, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiations. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in the same jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
12. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MingTag regarding the service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications on the same subject matter.
